Permaculture is definitely one of the most misunderstood and obscure terms in the sustainability and gardening field. Is it a technique? A way of gardening? A philosophy?
Catherine Kirchner from Uncommon Pastures recently interviewed me about permaculture. Catherine owns a small, diverse, regenerative farm near Big Timber, MT where she raises grassfed & grass finished Montana beef & lamb.
In this conversation, we cover a lot of topics including:
- My background and what led me to do what I do
- What is permaculture, and how practicing it bleeds into other areas of a person’s life beyond growing food
- Advice that I would give to someone that doesn’t know anything about gardening but would like to grow their own produce
- How permaculture can be practiced in an urban context and finally, ways in which people can work with me.
