Enrollment for my Fall 2024 Resilient Homestead Program is NOW OPEN.

Resilient Homestead Student Spotlight! – Erika

Hear what Erika has accomplished since taking my Resilient Homestead Program! In this video, Erika shares that the Resilient Homestead Program allowed her to get clear on her vision for her site, understand that slope on her property is actually a good feature, and made her think even more about how to make her site a closed loop system. Since taking the program last year, Erika has put in annual gardens, a 400 gallon water capture system off her garage roof, built a beautiful attached greenhouse and much more (see pics below)!

Enrollment for my Resilient Homestead Program is NOW OPEN.

Beyond just the guidance in coming up with a solid site plan and getting it on paper, Erika shares that “hope was the most amazing thing I took away from the program.” The ability to be in action and to be around other people taking action was an intangible yield that Erika took away. As she jokes in the video, “I didn’t have to pay a therapist last winter because I was in the Resilient Homestead Program.” And while we can joke about it, there is so much truth to her statement. Gathering with a community that is focused on solutions, rather than dwelling on the problems, is critical at this juncture. It is, what Erika and I discuss, a very important part of building a resilient life.

Let’s spend the fall and winter getting your site design right from the beginning, so that you can start building and planting come spring! Check out Erika’s progress below!
