Resilient Homestead Student Spotlight! – Becki

One thing you’ll discover when you learn more about permaculture is that it encompasses way more than just growing food. In my Resilient Homestead Program, I take my students through the design of their site, using a permaculture approach. But more than that, I’ve often found that the program has the added benefit of giving folks a bigger picture vision of their life.

As Becki shares in the video, taking my program changed her and her husband’s outlook on life and how they want to contribute to the world. For her, the Resilient Homestead Program not only allowed her to get clear on how she and her husband wanted to revitalize their 18-year old landscape but it gave them a container in which to start designing the second half of their life. I always love hearing about how this program touches my students in different ways.

As Becki describes, the program is not only about growing food but about growing a life.

In a time where we are dealing with so much uncertainty, overwhelm, heartbreak, divisiveness and existential threats, I think one of the most powerful things that we can do right now is to grow food, habitat and community. And that’s what I aim to accomplish with every Resilient Homestead cohort that goes through my program. This program helps you get a site plan on paper and build the outer resilience of your landscape (e.g. how to build soil, plant food forests and capture water), while tackling the inner resilience that each of us needs to get through this time.

Enrollment for my Resilient Homestead Program is NOW OPEN. I’d love it if you joined me this fall/winter.
