Happy Holidays from Broken Ground! I wanted to share this short video with you about my permaculture Christmas tree. Normally, we aren’t in Bozeman for the holidays so I’ve never put up a Christmas tree, which means that I have very few decorations and ornaments. So, when we decided to stay here this year, I wanted to be festive but I didn’t want to buy a bunch of decorations that either didn’t have much meaning for me or created waste at the end of the season.
I call this a permaculture Christmas tree because it embodies a lot of permaculture principles. You’ll see from the video that the tree serves multiple functions, some of the ornaments are edible, others have been upcycled from things I have found in our house and still others have been gifted.
