Greenhouse Soil-Building and Soil Rehabilitation Techniques

If you watched my last video about my Top 5 Lessons from this Season’s Garden, you may have seen that one of my lessons was that I needed to pay better attention to my greenhouse soil. As promised, here’s a video on how I am going to rehabilitate the soil in my greenhouse beds. I also cover some of the other soil-building techniques that I already use in the greenhouse.

This past season, I had a fungal disease in my greenhouse that impacted the tomatoes that were growing in there. I believe it is most likely fusarium wilt. In my video, I go through the steps that I am taking to rehabilitate the soil which include:

  • Taking out some of the existing soil
  • Adding pond plants, comfrey, leaves, worm castings, compost and nutrient-rich pond water.
  •  Considering taking a year off or growing cover crops.

I also talk about some of the soil-building techniques that I already use. So click above to learn more!
