Enrollment for my Resilient Homestead Program is Open!

Interested in Flower Farming? Hear from my student Adrienne from Little Button Farm!

If you’ve ever been interested in what it takes to start a small flower farm then you’ll want to check out my video today. In it, I talk with one of my students, Adrienne from Little Button Farm. Adrienne and I sat down on a blustery afternoon a couple of weeks ago to talk about why she took my Resilient Homestead Program, the steps she took to establish her thriving flower farm, what she offers through her business and much much more. As I mention in the video, Adrienne is one of my overachieving alumni and I have always admired her incredible passion, energy, and how capable and smart she is. You’ll definitely want to check out our conversation!

Here are some highlights:

  • 0:40 – Why Adrienne took my Resilient Homestead Program
  • 3:15 – The steps she took to implement her site design
  • 6:04 – Why she could fast track the implementation of her farm
  • 7:14 – The concept of permaculture zones and how that helped her in her farm planning
  • 9:03 – What she offers through her farm
  • 10:12 – Why selling collectively through the Montana Flower Collective has been a boon
  • 11:00 – The importance of supporting local flowers

I love this conversation because it reminds me of the amazing people like Adrienne who are in communities across this country doing good work. In a time where we are dealing with so much uncertainty, overwhelm, heartbreak, divisiveness and existential threats, I think one of the most powerful things that we can do right now is to grow food, flowers, habitat and community. And that’s what I aim to accomplish with every Resilient Homestead cohort that goes through my program. This program helps you get a site plan on paper and build the outer resilience of your landscape (e.g. how to build soil, plant food forests and capture water), while tackling the inner resilience that each of us needs to get through this time.

Enrollment for my Resilient Homestead Program is NOW OPEN. I’d love it if you joined me this fall/winter.
