A workshop offering tools to create a life rooted in connection, purpose, and community

Journey with me into the realm of social permaculture. Explore how to apply the permaculture principles to your daily life, to enhance your personal well-being, and as a framework for building community. This interactive workshop will offer tools and inspiration to create a life rooted in connection, purpose, and community.

The world feels heavy right now. If we’re not dealing with the immediate concerns of healthcare costs, grocery bills, childcare or eldercare, we are confronting the existential threats of climate change, biodiversity loss and a rise in authoritarianism. With one crisis hitting us after another, we’re still expected to live in this world. So many of us want to contribute in a meaningful way yet it can all feel a little overwhelming and precarious.

But what if there was a framework to ground you? A way to design your life that made you feel more resourced, that builds your resilience skills, and gives you a sense of belonging and hope? This is the promise of social permaculture. Through this workshop, we’ll find a way forward through these dark times.

For over 15 years, I’ve been a permaculture practitioner on the landscape level, designing and implementing gardens and food forests, and working with clients on creating integrated food-producing systems. In my time on my own homestead and working with others to design theirs, I’ve realized how powerful the permaculture principles can be, not only in designing your yard but in designing your life.

Just like we work to create ecosystems in our garden, we, too, need to create supportive ecosystems in our lives. Join me for this new workshop offering! Together we’ll:

  • learn how to apply the permaculture principles to our daily lives
  • map our ecosystems of support and identify what’s missing
  • identify how best to do our work in the world without feeling overwhelmed
  • weave together a supportive and inspiring community

DISCOVER A POWERFUL toolkit to meet this moment.

Hi. I’m Kareen and I’ll be your guide during this workshop. For over 15 years, I’ve been helping people in cold climates grow their own food so they can eat healthier, live more sustainably and be more self-reliant. It’s my mission to get as many people as possible building a resilient life that enables them to not only feed their families sage and healthy food but to live their values and connect to their community.

That’s why the practice of permaculture is so powerful. Not only does it provide you with a toolkit at a landscape level, it gives you a framework for designing a life of resilience, community and social impact. It truly is a toolkit to meet these challenging times.
